PabloP's gg loading issue

Ok, I am running on linux, i also HAD the problem where gungame wouldnt load when in autoexec. I tried to load it manually and i got this.

OK, so i was just looking through that and i saw "OSError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/servers/xxx/orangebox/cstrike/cfg/gungame51/weapon_orders'"
So, i renamed my cstrike/cfg/~~gungame51 back to cstrike/cfg/gungame51 and restarted server.
Gungame started with already noticable improvement!! Because my random gun order worked!! Now, still the other addons set to be on were not working, but i tried
gg_elimination 0
gg_elimination 1
gg_turbo 0
gg_turbo 1
and about a round later turbo and elimination started to work!!!!!
So now i will proced to give you all information as stated here viewtopic.php?f=70&t=1389&p=6092

So, youll see i turned on elimination and turbo with 0 1 after they werent working, many other addons were also on in the configs but not functioing though. Sorry for all the fluff with the bots, had some real people show up. Hope this actually helps. And, empty error log for gungame51. Though i did play one round on the next map, and elimination and turbo did stay on, so it seems i could run this gungame on my server I would just have to manually enable each addon every day and hope for no crashes.

That error doesn't make any sense... Did you upload all the files? You definitely 'should' have a ../cfg/gungame51/weapon_orders/ folder. It's included in the download...

I split this off of the original thread you attempted to highjack. Please do not do this in the future. If you have relevant information, or the exact same issue, as in another thread, feel free to post there. If you have a completely unrelated issue, find one that actually pertains to your issue. If you cannot find one, please feel free to start your own thread.

Yes same, like I said, it fixes RCON but it does not load any addons.


This is the problem im having, no included addons (or custom addons actually) will load. stuffcmds is already in my valve.rc which i cant seem to edit, though i could most likely ask my server provider to if needed.

the allow wait thing is 1 on my server, though i tried putting it in my autoexec anyway.. i did all this with a fresh install with only the things in the post installed on my server, though i had the same problem with my normal setup. this is a linux server. There are no gungame error logs. please let me know any more information you desire. i get many complaints everyday of our crappy gungame.

I tried that also same thing, shouldve mentioned.

Also i didnt put it there, it has always been there since i got my server. would still do the same thing anyway right? i mean im not having any issues with starting gungame or rcon access, just the addons.

Ill also mention that the post i quoted previously, the guy pinpointed stuffcmds as making his addons not work. This is same problem i had the night of the update, and made an upset post :[ . i was just a problem ahead since i already had stuffcmds. ya?

EDIT: anyway please tell me any info or test i can do to help you, i will have time tomorrow morning. and believe me ive read everything and tried everything thats posted on this forum. i hover these forums constantly since the update.. once again... i HATE SM GG

First, I'm fairly certain your issue is not the same as his. Your issue seems to me to be that the GG Included/Custom addons are not loading, whereas his is crashing on trying to load GG.

I'm not sure why that folder was named ~~gungame51 , but are any of the other folder/file names messed up? What exactly is your issue? I'm re-reading everything, and you are all over the map. I'm having a hard time discerning what your actual issue is. From what I'm reading, it's just that Included/Custom addons are not loading properly. Is that the only issue? Is that actually still an issue? What currently is the contents of your autoexec.cfg and server.cfg?

Ill also just mention i also will do most these test with only eventscripts, spe and gg5.1 installed.

I see two issues that may be giving you trouble.

1 - Your server.cfg file is loading sourcemod's gungame deathmatch elimination. I'm not sure what effect that might have on GunGame5.1 loading properly.

2 - Second, but most importantly, it is not a good idea to keep different copies of the same folders/files or renaming them so you can switch between default configs and customized configs. As XE_ManUp stated in another thread "Actually, GunGame5.1 is dynamic to the point of being painful. What happens is that when GunGame is loaded, it loops through ALL directories in both the included and custom addon folders. It then searches for the addon_name_config.py to execute - which controls the creation and loading of the configs. It also searches for translations to load as well".
My suggestion would be to move your "renamed" folders to somewhere totally outside of the cstike folder structure.

To clarify on #2:

It "walks" the directories:

../cstrike/addons/eventscripts/gungame51/scripts/included
../cstrike/addons/eventscripts/gungame51/scripts/custom


Anything outside of those won't matter.

Yeah im loading sm gg because i cant get this one to work..

and its just in my cfg folder, lol i hope gungame doesnt search random folders.
