Eventscripts Logs

Postby tnarocks » Sun Sep 05, 2010 9:49 pm

I was wondering if someone could tell me how to stop my server from writing to the eventscript logs. it is creating them so big up to gigs that its causeing the server to crash at night. This is what my server company said about it .

Your current plugins are almost most definitely causing this particular issue. None of them were disabled at the time of the crash. The server crashed using 100% of the machines CPU while generating a 2gb log file in this short time. EventScripts plugins has been disabled as it is most likely what is causing this issue. Let us know if you will need any further assistance. i took the stuff out of the autoexec.cfg and just let the stuff commands and that. Can anyone tell me what else i have to do. Thanks for all the Help!!

What all did you have installed? Have you ran the server since to see if it still crashes? EventScripts doesn't really log anything by default. GG5.1 does, but that is just errors that have Tracebacks that involve scripts in the gungame51 directory, which shouldn't cause a huge log to be created.

Did they tell you where the logs were stored at? And do you have access to those logs?

tnarocks, I know from your previous posts here that you have been trying to run Backraw's Team Only No-Block on your server. I've also tried to run it. That plugin is broken. I can tell you from my own experience with it that it will generate a console log of 2gb in about an hours time. Could it be that this is what's causing your problem?

Yes it does lag the server, and yes it does create massive log files, and yes it is broken, it need to be reloaded every map change.
I have spoken to Backraw and he is recoding it as we speak. :)

There could be several log files being generated in different directories. You'll need to tell us the names or types of log files you want to stop.
For example, if it's the normal sever logs located in "cstrike/logs" directory ,i.e. logs/L0909001.log, then look in your server.cfg file for "log on" and change it to "log off".
If there is a log file in your "cstrike" directory called console.log then look in your server startup line for "-condebug ", if it's there take it out.

Like I said, we need to know which file you're trying to stop. What's the name of the big 2gb file that's crashing your server?
