Server Activity & Bots

Ever since the v5 and OB updates we have experienced a huge reduction in the number of players who populate our servers. I think there are multiple reasons for this, but things should be picking up now that the software is becoming more stable (no server updates in the past two weeks). Previous versions showed the bots as present on the server (even when no humans were playing) when you were searching for someplace to play. Now they don't show. The default value for server searches is to skip over servers with no one playing. It's frustrating - now we need people on the server to attract people to the server. The server has great performance (9 months old) and very low ping times. As I've said - it's frustrating.

Is there a way get the Bots to show up when there isn't anyone playing (addon or plugin)? I'd like to try this and see if it helps.

PS - Map Configs are now working perfectly (delay until after warmup round completes)

Fake Players haven't been allowed for a 'very' long time. As far as I know, there is no way around this, thankfully. People don't generally like to be tricked to going onto servers only to realize that it is filled with nothing but bots.

Thanks. I guess the real problem is the default (search only for servers with players) setting in the Steam Servers list. Has anyone else noticed that fewer people are playing these days? I don't venture out much from the Misfit Mafia servers as I'm always trying to populate.

Iv'e had nothing but gains since OB update, but i only have one server and put all my attention on it, you could try idling your server in spec (what i do if no one is in there, normally starts up quick after that)
